Mr. Les Coop the Chairman of the Greater Manchester Preservation Trust thanked the sponsors of the window restoration for their donations towards this work. Individual and group sponsors were represented.Various group donations included the 16th Middleton Scout and Guide Band playing between 1974 – 1998. The image shows some of the members below the window sponsored by ‘old’ band members. Donations from other groups include: Middleton Rotary, Middleton Civic Society, Edgar Wood Society and the congregation of the Long Street Methodist Church. The architect in charge of the restoration, Lisa McFarlane of Seven Architects, is also good at baking and can be seen serving the efforts of her labour to a hungry recipient. Also thanks go to Lisa for assembling and arranging the printing of the commemoration book, ‘The Restoration of Long Street Methodist Former Schools’.
